Meanwhile, in Indianapolis, a man walking out of the Indy 1500 Gun and Knife Show shot himself in the hand as he was loading his .45-caliber semi-automatic firearm, Indiana State Police said in a statement.

I like to think of yesterday more as EMT gun shot wound training day.

Jeez, I don’t understand. With all the armed people in the facility how this could possibly have been allowed to happen. Follow me here please, according to WLP of the NRS, only armed good guys can stop armed bad guys …so how’d this happen?????

This shooting, the one tomorrow, the 20 children shot in last month’s massacre and the 20 children shot in next month’s massacre (just so long as they aren’t my children), etc. etc, etc… these are just the sad unavoidable collateral damage in my right to play pretend-warrior in the fantasy patriot league.

And, these are the clowns, like the SC representative, who want to start offering gun training classes in the public schools. After all, he says, it’s tied to history, and, another way to bring kids back to the roots of our founding fathers. That must be the same “Christian” founding fathers who said religion was a bad influence (I can find their exact quotes, if I must)…the same ones who came to escape the tyranny in England, and, that gave right wingers the freedom to say (despite our own immigration here), that we should not recognize illegal immigrants these days.
It’s funny how the rules are good for some, and, not for others.
Or, I wonder if the next Tea Party meeting in Arden would be cool with me bringing a big group of Occupiers, equipped with semi-automatic guns, to sit with them during their meeting. After all, ALL citizens should be able to bear arms, right?
We will just sit and observe their wide-eyed stares, and, see how long it takes th to call the police to come be sure all the Occupiers are not high on drugs or something. After all, what law-abiding citizen would proudly display their weapons…outside a gun show?

The only catch is, I’ll have to ask some of my conservative brethren if we can borrow a few of their weapons for our little experiment.
Somehow, I think they will rationalize how SOME citizens, even without criminal records, should NOT hold a gun.

You do detect a pattern, Cecil. A pattern of negligence. Negligence by self-described gun “experts” (like the “responsible” gun owner in the video) who will dismiss you as a know-nothing, anti-gun crank if you refer to a magazine as a clip or a semi-auto AR-15 as an assault rifle. The kind who videotapes himself fast-drawing with a cocked, single-action automatic and winds up shooting himself in the leg.
These are not accidents. The guns just don’t “go off.” The owners are negligent. A vet I know (with a sliver star) refuses to go to gun shows. Too many yahoos with no muzzle discipline carelessly waving “unloaded” guns around.

Ha ha ha ha… Whatta maroon. I left it on even though I lost interest after the first 20 seconds, otherwise I wouldn’t have caught the end. HIs only regrets are A) that he didn’t go ahead & keep shooting at the target after having shot himself, and B) that he didn’t grab the camera and document himself as he treated his wound. Really Bubba? Those are your only regrets from that day?
He then goes on to praise the NRA. They must be very proud.

News story this am, an Alabama man, 65, shot a bus driver, who has died, and a 6 year old, special needs student, is now his hostage.He is in a bunker he made, and, may have enough supplies to last months.
I wonder if the pro-gun folks will use that as an ad? “if only the 6 year old had a gun…and, surely, the bus driver!” Let’s just arm the whole damn school!

Correction:
The gunman/kidnapper has enough supplies to last weeks, not months.
Not that it matters to a terrified child, or the parents.
Meanwhile, politicians arguing against universal background checks because criminals won’t cooperate with it. I guess we’ll start asking criminals what they are willing to do before we set laws to guide our social structure.
