Ah, Spring!

Spring is in the air, and all around the country the heat is rising, the flowers are blooming, the farmers are wondering who the Hell is going to pick all this stuff come July, and the wacko quotient Nationwide is beginning to come to a frothy boil.

I’m sure you heard of the Lone Wolf Right Wing Survivalist in Washington State who killed his family, took off to his extensive underground bunker in the mountains and then had to kill himself once he was rather quickly and expertly discovered by the police.

Wednesday, a prominent and similarly-minded Right wing so-called Patriot in Arizona also killed those closest to him and took his own life, although without the added merit points of the escape to the Bat Cave first.

Not to be left Behind, the local crazies are meeting this weekend to train and prepare for the worst they might have to inflict on the locals should the Asheville Liberals not behave themselves.

Then there was that little dust-up over comments recently uttered by America’s most famous rock has-been, Ted Nugent, a guy whose most popular song (arguably) is about pistol whipping a woman. His comments were so over the line the CIA invited him over for a chat. One of those “you know you’re in deep doo-doo when” moments.

Also this week, America’s greatest gift to ignorance, the Heartland Institute had a great plan to run a bunch of billboards casting doubt on Climate Craziness using prominent mass-murderers as shining examples of that nasty belief in science that keeps getting in the way of Corporate World Domination. That was so far over the line they have already decided to pull the plug. Not that they plan to go so far as to admit their whole reason for existence is to mislead the public or anything.

And if that wasn’t enough to make you start planning your move to Belgium, closer to home the proponents of the divisive and discriminatory Amendment One have been coming out in odd ways, revealing motives and arguments you won’t hear from the mainstream politicians pushing the legislation. However it must be pointed out that, aside from the chorus of those on the Right who have come out against the amendment, those who still support it have not gone out of their way to disavow the rhetoric of hate now coming to light.

There’s a new book out that posits the notion that the Right Wing in America truly is, objectively and logically, to blame for the state of things. This is something the far left has known pretty much since Goldwater, but whatever.

There is a certain “global warming” kind of tension in the air. As the temperature climbs and the political races narrow, and the mysterious fires and dead pets begin to show up, and the Occupy movement returns with the outdoor sleeping weather, we might be in for a long hot summer.

Meanwhile, in Asheville this weekend the hippies are throwing a festival that calls itself “Big Love”. Weird.

Well, darn it! I have to miss the Big Love to go ready myself for the not-so-loving-potential actions of Charlotte police come the shareholder’s meeting.

BTW, Ascend, Occupy is NOT “returning,” as we never “left.” Yes, the warmer weather is making being outdoors more desirable than the cold… and we have internal Spring cleaning to do, while we bring the 99% Spring to the open public. However, we have continued during the cold months (as sporadic as global warming let them be) to do behind the scenes work on behalf of several ongoing issues, other than BoA.

Hope y’all come on out as we do, and join the activities and actions.

The Crazies serve an important function, Ascend. They help remind the rest of us that we’re sane.

Or something like that. Mecca Lecca High Mecca Hiney Ho!

    Michael, you’re sooooo reassuring. :-/

@TJ Apologies. intellectually I knew Occupy hadn’t gone away, but I couldn’t help reacting to the resurgent media coverage…
    Good luck in Charlotte!

    It’s all good, Ascend ;-).

Just another sign of the media gone mad, need-bigger-and-‘better’-to-get-noticed-anymore.

Just you don’t ignore us…you might even get an inside scoop 😉
