The great Dennis Hopper died yesterday. For more than a half a century, he blazed a wild trail…from Rebel Without A Cause to Easy Rider to Blue Velvet. He will be very missed.
“”It took years to run video poker out of North Carolina. But the industry has been banging at the door ever since. In an effort to regain admittance, it’s dangling visions of easy money before legislators who are desperate to find new revenue to plug the state’s gaping budget shortfall…”
Thanks for you continuing attention to this matter, CJ. Let me know if you’d like to get together to discuss it further. The vote has been taken. It will be revisited in six months.
Gordon, am I not welcome here? Is there a protocol for posting comments on this site I have abused? Just because a resident of AVL believes you have taken a misguided position on an issue likely to have a heavy impact on quality of life in our community is that justification for you to get all pissy. You want me to cease contributing here don’t be sly, say so directly. I’ll be deeply disappointed but it’s your site and you can ban whomever you like.
We do have a comments policy – there’s a link to it just above and to the right of the “Submit Comment” button. Please take the time to read it. We’re not going to ban anyone, but we do ask that people stay “on topic”. We have open threads quite often, and we also have a contact form that will let you send an e-mail to any of us, if you’d rather take the discussion offline.
You’re entirely welcome. I responded quite thoroughly in the previous thread, but it seems important to you to bring it to this thread as well. That’s all well and good, but if you’d like to be persuasive, I’m advising you to continue to present new information or to contact me personally. Simply repeating your dissatisfaction is not persuasive, and my guess is that you’d prefer to persuade.
I appreciate your chiming in, and I believe your point of view is shared by others.

I’m failing to see what exactly video poker has to do with the passing of Dennis Hopper – or Steppenwolf, for that matter.

CJ’s very passionate about his position on this issue and hasn’t yet decided to move from this medium to a personal one.

Ah, what could be more better for Memorial Day weekend than hours and hours of the art of computer maintenance (without the Zen)?
Hearing about Hopper made me cry out in shock.
