One of the less-keen minds (myself) will posting the City Council LiveChat page at noonish.
LiveChat starts at 5pm.
Come join us for political commentary. Should be interesting, since the City will be considering annexing the following areas:
1. 301 Long Shoals Road (Ingles)
2. Behind 380 Long Shoals Road (Schenck Parkway)
3. 1 Volvo Drive, 42 Schenck Parkway (Farleigh Street)
4. Dorset Drive (Deerfield)
5. 67 Mountainbrook Road
6. 73 and 75 Waters Road
7. 26 Rocking Porch Road
8. 40 Keasler Road and 23 Sunnycrest Drive
9. 617 Upper Sondley Drive
10. 1445 Tunnel Road
11. Willow Winds Lane
12. Airport Road (portions of shopping center; developed property on edge of municipal service area, including Airport Road right-of-way to Brian Boulevard and County line as well as part of Rockwood Road)
Annexation is sometimes a hotbutton issue because, while people in the outskirts love to use Asheville’s infrastructure – paying for it … not so much.

Could someone give us a little primer on pros/cons of being in the city limits vs county? The most obvious I know are more services and more taxes.

Saw this tweet from Drew Reisinger: “Asheville Democrat, Axia Wilson, will challenge Rep. Shuler for his seat.”
Who is Axia Wilson, and where can I send a campaign contribution to? In the last year Shuler has systematically lost my trust, my respect, and my vote.

I found a Web site for Axia Wilson: http://wilson411nc.com/index.html
Ironically, the link appeared on a Republican blog accompanied by an insult to this candidate. Knowing about Wilson is especially relevant today after Shuler announced that he will vote against health insurance reform.
