I can’t hear this song without thinking of “Pull My Strings” by the Dead Kennedys.

Now, that was music. The Ramones, The Clash, The Kinks…this crap these damned kids are listening to today — I tell ya.

Oh — and for those too young to remember what we are talking about (“Mommy, what’s a Shirona?”) My Shirona is widely credited as the song that killed disco.

How quickly we turn into our parents!
“I can’t believe that you listen to that @#$%&*ing music! Why, it’s not even music, it’s just noise!”
Oh…..and it’s “Sharona”.

I used to hear that “it’s just noise!” complaint a lot. But then, I used to listen to datacassettes. :)
