Are Those Cameras On?
ByThe Mount Vernon StatementConstitutional Conservatism: A Statement for the 21st CenturyWe recommit ourselves to the ideas of the American Founding. Through the Constitution, the Founders created an enduring framework of limited government based on the rule of law. They sought to secure national independence, provide for economic opportunity, establish true religious liberty and maintain a flourishing society of republican self-government….
Truth, justice, eliminating Social Security, the American way, a noun, a verb and “socialism,” etc. “A bounty of political manifestos” from conservatives, observes the Christian Science Monitor. The Tea Party Patriots’ Contract from America will be revealed at CPAC, reports Time.
“The federal government today ignores the limits of the Constitution, which is increasingly dismissed as obsolete and irrelevant,” says the statement.
About three and a half years late, aren’t they?

The statement is remarkably short on specifics about exactly *how* the signers believe the constitution is being undermined. The MSNBC link above is not so coy, and explict about the gutting of habeas in 2006.
Suddenly, they’re all gushy about the Founders, making them all but secular (horrors!) saints. The constitution could have used their outrage before the GOP lost the White House.

the “tea parties” were alive and well during the previous administration, though not as active until the Ron Paul campaign energised them to oppose the supposed “conservatives” now pretending this is their movement. The Republican party executive committees opposed us at the conventions, even as the members supported our anti-globalist,national soverignty resolutions. Our people were former Democrats, Republicans, and Libertarians wanting to take our country back from the criminal, elitist, oligarchy controlling both parties. Now the losers from the last election are desperately trying to re-brand themselves as “Patriots”,and Tea parties” with the help of Time, and other mouthpieces of the ruling elites, apparently with some success, as both “progressives” and former supporters of “neoconservatives” now identify them as the same (although for opposite reasons). Don’t be a bunch of suckers, this is not left vs. right, conservative vs. liberal (even though want-to-be usurpers within the movement would like to steer it towards their agenda) {Sarah Palin,Glenn Beck, etc.}this is about returning our government to the peoples’ interests not the iternationalists,eg.transnational corporations,World Bank,IMF,United Nations types represented by the national parties
