Sunday Morning Music
ByI was driving through Los Banos, California last weekend. Â It was Sunday morning and I was on the California 152. Â In the last couple years, this relatively small stretch of road that runs through the town has been almost completely taken over by every conceivable big box retailer and chain restaurant. Â Home Depot AND Lowe’s, Walmart AND Target, two Starbucks, Applebees AND Chilis, AND the list goes on. Â All of this in retail developments some of which are still not finished. Â I suppose the plans, financing, and approvals for this all happened at the height of the real estate and credit booms. The town has a population of 35,000, two-thirds of which are commuters from San Jose. Â I was having serious difficulty figuring out how this wasn’t a complete waste. Â So I was really glad when the CD changer found “Sandinista!” right then and there. Have fun.

Nice find. It was always entertaining when the punks would show up on Tom Snyder. YouTube is full of those clips, but my favorite hands-down was when Public Image Ltd. showed up:
