Hiya Hooligans! What an exciting week it was. Yet our hearts go out to the families and friends of the victims in Ft. Hood. In brief, in review:
- Congratulations Gordon! You deserved to win for such a well thought and well fought campaign. Go get ‘em!
- The broader election results from Tuesday have the MSM spinning eloquently about a Republican comeback and trouble for President Obama. I disagree, I’m with kos on this one. Corzine’s defeat in New Jersey is another affirmation of my Psychic Electorate Hypothesis (PEH). You can’t think of Corzine without thinking about Goldman Sachs and seat belts. The Republican Party is the one which suffered a total implosion in NY-23 brought about by Tea Bags.
- President Obama met with American Indian tribal leaders yesterday. I didn’t know that the President had visited the Crow reservation as a candidate and was given his own Indian name, Barack Black Eagle. This summer, I visited the Crow reservation as part of a visit to Custer National Battlefield. I also visited the Museum of the Plains Indian in Browning, Montana. These visits made me reflect on the meaning of being an American. I don’t think many of us know or understand enough about our Native American heritage as we should. I hope this effort undertaken by Barack Black Eagle will lead to improvements in our understanding and relationship with all American Indians.
- Newt Gingrich appears on the cover of this season’s Emory Magazine. Fan or Foe, You Can’t Ignore? Oh yes we can!
- If we push up Black Friday, can we at least expect to have fewer people trampled the day after Thanksgiving?
Open thread! Let ‘er rip!

You mean I don’t have to canvass tomorrow?

You’ve touched upon an issue that has been far too ignored in our collective American conscience, subconscious. The injustice to the original inhaibants of this continent, whether it has been genocide, enslavement, redistribution, reservations etc… will soon come back to haunt us all. The indigenous understood the seventh generation thing, and we are the seventh generation.
Yaahitay!

Tom, we’ve decided to wait until next Saturday to start canvassing for 2011. But a phone call to Shuler would be appropriate and timely. Remind him that he could lose in 2010 if the Dems stay home. And Dems without health care may not feel much Heath care.
