Watch this tiger almost take a man right off an elephant and then go write my name in on the ballot.

If I lived in Asheville, you’d get my vote because I want to see tigers roam the streets of Asheville.

Over 200 voters so far at Ira Jones Elementary. Beautiful day!
Turnout is weaker in west Asheville. Call all your people on the west side, and turn ‘em out.

Gordon should have come out of the closet. The gay vote would have gotten him elected. Gordon, stop living a lie and come out!

Low turnout bodes well for Smith and Bothwell, because they had the most energized campaigns. An incumbent like Mumpower normally does receive a lot of votes through name recognition alone, but many of the not-so-engaged voters who just color in dots are probably staying home. Activist voters comprise a relatively large percentage in an off year such as this, and that benefits new faces and activist candidates.

I don’t think I can make it any clearer than this: We will not stand for anyone calling anyone a ‘faggot’. I don’t care what the context is. I don’t care if it was serious, or if it was merely an attempt at a stupid joke made by a stupid human being.
While we can’t stop greenasheville from using hate speech somewhere else, we do have some control here. We’ve tolerated this unbelievable douchenozzle’s immature and nonsensical ramblings long enough. It was a matter of time before he crossed the line.

On the Parkside topic, isn’t it convenient for Coleman that the ruling comes down on election day?
Nobody had to take a stand on it during the campaign, so nobody got (her) prospects ruined by having (her) pro-developer stance dragged out for the voters to see. Now that the polls are closing, Mr. Coleman can watch to see who will get seated. If I’m him, I look at the $4 million I have invested in Parkside, I think about trying to recoup that one beer at a time at a tavern named after my adversaries, or I consider my other options…

From AC-T
“By 4 p.m., 9,303 voters had cast ballots today, said Parker. Including the 3,357 residents who voted early, that puts turnout at 20 percent so far.”

Between about 4:30 and 6:30 the turnout doubled at precinct 12 in West Asheville, from around 107 voters to about 216.

Another interesting nugget: go here, and you’ll see that all four “progressive” candidates cleaned up in early voting, with Gordon and Cecil doubling Mumpower’s total.

You missed the ‘VIP Room’ at Gordon’s Election Night Party. I managed to slip in behind Veronika Gunter while the bouncer was looking the other way…
