One Hundred, Forty-Three, Another Dozen – Now You?

Howdy Hooligans.  I just clicked over to have a look at my campaign financials and realized that, as of yesterday, one hundred different people have contributed to my campaign for Asheville City Council.  Some have donated five bones, and some have given quite a lot more.  It’s humbling and motivating to have so many people willing to fork over their dollars, trusting that my vision for the city is the right one and trusting that I’ll be fighting for their priorities.

Add to that hundred people the forty-three who have given a few hours of their time to volunteer, and you can see that this people-powered campaign is rolling strong.  Add the dozen superstars on the campaign leadership teams, and it looks downright formidable.

The forces of the status quo will be throwing ungodly gobs of conservative cash at the candidates of their choice, and we can counter them only if enough people volunteer and donate.  Even if it’s just ten dollars or just one volunteer shift, know that every last bit makes a huge difference.
