Unless I am behind on the news, the BCGOP Vice Chair is not going after the Chair position. That position is still being held by Tim Johnson who intends to serve as the County Chair and the state vice chair.
I believe I saw a comment by Tim Peck regarding the BCGOP Vice Chair running for public office.

The “going after” was in reference to attacking Duncan.
