Time is Money, Money is Time
By
Hi all,
Thanks if you’ve been one of the many folks who’s volunteered time or donated to my campaign for City Council. The campaign hit it’s end-of-March fundraising goal, and now we’re gearing up for a spring season of canvassing, house parties, phone banking, and neighborhood events. That early money we raised will go towards bumper stickers, campaign literature for canvassing, food for events, and more.
I writing today to ask you to get involved with either your time or your money.
Small donations can make a big difference. Whether it’s $100 or $10 – it’s a step closer to the finish line. You can donate via Paypal here:

Volunteering to canvass, phone bank, or staff neighborhood events turns your one vote into dozens or hundreds. Sign up to volunteer here:

We’re out in front of all the other candidates right now in terms of money and organization. I aim to keep it that way, and I need your help to make that happen.
Thanks for everything. Let’s work together to give Asheville a more affordable, more sustainable future.

Ok, I’ve done nothing thus far regarding the upcoming election so I guess it’s getting close to the time I must begin to bestir myself. So, a question Gordon – How many seats are open, who’s seats are they, and who is running for them? (make that three questions).

David,
Three seats + the Mayor’s seat are up. Robin Cape, Carl Mumpower, and Kelly Miller are all running to retain their seats, and Mayor Bellamy is running for reelection as well.

I must have missed Miller’s announcement, not that I have been looking for it or will be voting for him. The others I’ve heard about:
Mumpower
Cape
Gordon
Cecil
Who else?

Greenie,
Miller accepted an offer for candidates to speak at last week’s MoveOn meeting, tacitly announcing his candidacy. Esther Elizabeth Manheimer, a finalist in the appointment process last year, also attended.

Is this forum open for all candidates to request help with their campaign?

Any candidates who want to chime in are welcome. Cecil Bothwell bought ad space. So I guess the answer is yes.
