Very cool. Too bad the graphics of Google Earth are so slow, and the 3D environment is choppy. But this technology would be very cool with, say, PlayStation Home or WoW.
Wow, that’s amazing! Someday we’ll be able to even use complex electronics to take our virtual dog for a virtual walk in our own neighborhood. Perhaps we’ll even go to our virtual jobs and perform work and go to bars afterwards without actually having to get near another human being! We could live in holodecks and believe in our hearts that we live rich and productive lives. All because technology lets us!
I truly believe that we as a species will only evolve to the degree that we let technology into our lives. I feel that the people that shun all forms of technology are the same type of people who would once refuse to believe the world was round… …and while I respect that sort of stoicism, I also think it smacks of willful ignorance.
Sorry for the tone that took right off the bat… I should instead be applauding the ingenuity of the balance board/google earth combo. Awesome…
The performance of Google Earth is directly related to the hardware upon which it is used, with the inclusion of your internet speed. Have you seen how butter-smooth it is when the major news networks use it and zip all over the world?
…and there IS a video of the Wii Balance Board being used to control movement in WoW, but I can’t get to youtube from school =*(

Just an addendum-
