The Best Thanksgiving Ever!
By
By the time you read this, Ms. Arratik and myself will be in scenic Campobello, SC, preparing ourselves for a lovely meal of roasted gamebird carcass and all of the traditional trimmings. All the while, I will be realizing just how much being on a diet sucks during the holidays. Mmmm, look at that savory cornbread dressing and those sweet candied yams – I’ll just eat a carrot and try not to start crying.
So, in a preventative effort to cheer myself up this Thanksgiving, I have something a little bit different from the usual Arlo Guthrie warhorse* on tap – the story of little Timmy from Thorndale, PA, and the Best Thanksgiving Ever, as told by The Dead Milkmen. (Warning – this particular recording of “Bitchin’ Camaro” contains some language that you probably wouldn’t want your grandmother to hear.)
Okay, maybe that wasn’t the happiest story in the world… all right, to brighten the mood a little, here’s William S. Burroughs, in a clip directed by Gus Van Sant. (warning – it’s William S. Burroughs.)
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
* By the way, if you came here to listen to Arlo Guthrie blathering on about the 27 8×10 color glossy photos with the circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one with four-part harmony and feelin’, I refer you to a post from last Thanksgiving.

Thanks for that, Arratik. Over the weekend I enjoyed listening to Spare Ass Annie. I enjoyed myself so much, I might make a Thanksgiving tradition of it.
WSB was something else.
