Maybe one day it will be kosher for sane, rational, enlightened, secular people–or the “godless” as The Joker Liddy Dole refers to us– to actually express their sensible beliefs in the public political arena. Until then I will keep a basement stocked with food and guns to keep you crazy mofo’s from including me in your End Times death cult…

I’m sitting here at Drinking Liberally with the local chapter of Pagans For Hagan, and boy…are they ever upset!

McCain calls Obama a “socialist.”

Mumpower calls Shuler a “socialist”

Dole calls Hagan “godless.”

Hey Republicans, 1954 called and wants its scare tactics back.

I didn’t know Liddy was BFF with Ann Coulter.

Oh, I should probably mention, just in case I got myself on a list somewhere, that I do not in fact have a basement full of guns and etc. I, like all good red-blooded Americans, have a basement full of crap I am too lazy or sentimental to throw out.

I can’t wait to see this woman go down in flames.

Someone should send that woman some “Depends”.

And maybe a brochure or two welcoming newcomers to North Carolina since she’s barely set foot in the state in the last year.

Just got a robocall from the Dole campaign – a woman’s voice, sounding rather urgent and indignant, telling me that Kay Hagan was recently accused of accepting money from an atheist PAC, and that if I would like to hear Hagan’s comments regarding the matter I should press ’1′. I did, and I was treated to a recording of Hagan being sandbagged by a right-wing radio talk show host, followed by some sneering nastiness and a “paid for the Elizabeth Dole Committee”.

Interesting note – when you call the number that comes up on your Caller ID for that particular robocall (800-851-6943), all you hear is “Thank you for calling. Goodbye” before you’re disconnected. A quick Google search matched that number with a company called Voitel based in Houston, TX.

If Dole really gave two shits about her constituents, she would have at least used a North Carolina-based company to do her dirty work.
