It was that kind of evening.
ByThe kind of evening where people can put aside their differences for a few minutes and enjoy refreshing beverages and gargantuan plates of nachos @ the Bier Garden after a decidedly partisan political event.
No need to rub your eyes. That’s G and Nathan Ramsey in an unguarded moment.
Fun times @ the Civic Center this evening. We didn’t get inside, but we got a lot of pictures of the goings-on on the streets, as well as some good audio and video of the zombie walk. You’ll be seeing some of this stuff make its way onto the internets sometime tomorrow afternoon. Right now… well, some of us have to go to work in the morning.
Good night!

What a crazy day. From the Palinistas shouting “Hussein!” to the Obama folks with their posters and chanting to the zombies to the pitchers at Bier Garden with Nathan Ramsey and Bill Russell – it was one surprise after another.
For the record. Chairman Ramsey, who spoke at the Palin event, was wearing that McCain/Palin sticker and took it off when I asked to get a picture with him. I chided him for that, and in a spirit of good fun he stuck it to my forehead.
Hung out with Ramsey, his wife Robin, a political staffer for Senator Dole, Bill Russell, his wife Alison (sp?), their newborn Porter, Muller (who won first prize for his zombie getup), Mike, Michael, and Arratik. Strange days indeed. Most peculiar Mama.

…And while Palin was contending with the zombies inside and outside her rally, Barack Obama was greeted by 100,000 people in Colorado.

Max’s photos are right on time. The following politicians went to the rally in support of Sarah Palin:
Here’s Nathan Ramsey very excited about putting a Country First.
County Commission candidate Ron McKee displays an alarming profile on the left side of this photo.
County Commission candidates John Carroll, Ron McKee, and Mike Fryar posing with some younger person.
Notice anyone missing? I mean aside from Don Yelton. That’s right, Hot Carl Mumpower was not invited to the event last night and didn’t show up. Persona non grata.

Does anyone have a link to the video of Nathan’s fullthroated, red meat, introduction speech from the poduium at the rally. You might think he was a Republican Palinista with all of his enthusiasm for stopping Barack Obama from taking America and NC away.

Hey guys. Thanks for linking to the photos. I wanted more shots of the zombies, but they were mostly gone by the time I got out of the rally.
