Friday Open Thread: Bon Anniversaire

By Gordon Smith

My wife and I are celebrating six years of marriage this weekend.  We’ll likely check out the James Taylor show on Sunday.  What are y’all up to?  What do you know?

I am going to go get an estimate on scooter repairs today….I will add that to the $900 I owe for my cat scan and finally know how much that 6 pack of beer really cost. Then I am going to see my moms and eat, talk, and watch Sons of Anarchy on Tivo. Y’all hold Asheville down for me.

Congrats GS! I think that I am going to a bike safety class, watch some titans and falcons football, yard work if time permits. I have a ticket to LEAF on sunday that I am not sure I will be able to use.

Happy Anniversary Gordon! I hope that you and R have a great day.

Have you seen this report of an NC reporter being assaulted at a Palin rally? McPalin sure seems to bring out the best in people.

I plan to vote for Holly and the AB-Tech guy for commissioner.

Also I need ideas for write-in names for the other two slots.

What about Cecil?

I think he’s got a big heart.

Went to West Asheville library at 1:30 pm and all Taylor tix were apparently gone at all locations.

Happy Anniversary, Gordon!

Aside from spending most of the weekend chilling out at home, I’m hitting the corn maze tomorrow. Hooray!

Congrats Mr and Mrs Smith! My lovely bride and I celebrated our 39th last month. You know what that means. I’m going to have to really step up next year. New pruning shears and chocolate aren’t going to cut it.

I’m writing from a resort in Virginia where my daughter and I performed an hour long stage show with lights, sound and a big crowd. Nothing like huge applause to give one dilutions of grandeur. It’s ok though, I’ll be back to working the street tomorrow night in Asheville to set everything back into balance.

“Dilutions of grandeur”… that’s funnier than you realize.
