James Taylor Sunday

The concerts will be f-r-e-e.

AC-T: Music legend James Taylor will play a concert Sunday in Asheville to support U.S. Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, a press release from the Democratic senator’s campaign said.

Taylor’s Asheville visit is part of a statewide tour, Friday to Tuesday, including Charlotte, Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Wilmington. The campaign did not give the time or place of the concert, but said “additional details will be announced in the coming days.”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a Sunday performance at Martin Luther King Park in Asheville.

Tickets for the free concert are available 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at UNC Asheville, Zeis Building; West Asheville Library, 942 Haywood Road; and Asheville Senior Opportunity Center, 36 Grove St.
