Too bad they couldn’t go all the way and advocate killing him. Eh, close enough.

  2. David Roat says:

I freakin’ LOVE the ‘NOPE’ sticker. Its so short and sweet and yet complete. Who came up with that?

  3. Green Dragon says:

The “NOPE” was first used by Repugnants riffing on the famous Obama Campaign posters. They replaced the OBAMA on the bottom with NOPE.

  4. Clarence Young says:

To call someone a racist who is not a racist is to lie.

There is no logic that takes a belief in the obeisance of law to racism.

I have not followed Mumpower’s life very closely. I do not know what is in his heart. All I know is that the man has never, in my experience, spoken or acted in a way that indicated racism.

I consider the sign to be more evil in intent than racism itself. People who have a mindset of this type cannot possibly be people of good will.

  5. Arratik says:

Never saw the NOPE propaganda that Green Dragon spoke of, but I did see this a while back…

  6. Doug Gibson says:

“Obeisance?” Umm, Clarence, that word – I do not think it means what you think it means.

1 : a movement of the body made in token of respect or submission : bow

2 : acknowledgment of another’s superiority or importance : homage (“makes obeisance to her mentors”)

Obeisance is an outward show of obedience, in other words, so maybe that is what you meant. Because protesting when the Mexican consulate does something it’s legally entitled to do doesn’t say much for Mumpower’s opinion of the law. Neither does going shopping for drugs in the mistaken belief that you’re the mystery love child of Mike Wallace and Tommy Carcetti.

All the same, though, Carl Mumpower is one of the last Republicans I’d expect to see actually promoting open racism – the problem is his lack of concern about the injustice he promotes in the name of the law.

  7. rip says:

Having to adopt the GOP’s “whatever it takes to win” tactics shows how truly dire our circumstances are and how important it is to win this election.

The Republicans have no problems with using half truths and out of context messages to further their agenda.

Maybe Mumps ain’t that kind of guy but he’s associated himself with those who are.

Whatever it takes. There’s no such thing as a fair fight.

  8. Jason Bugg says:

You know, part of me wanted to vote for Carl before all of this. I thought to myself that Schuler already sided with the Republicans on any issue that mattered to me, so what’s wrong with voting for one. Mumpower seemed like a godsend. He was crazy, but it’s a crazy that I can trust. It was local crazy, not Knoxville crazy.

Then this raid happened. Mumpower had 57 people arrested for going to work and trying to provide for themselves. I thought that this country put a premium on these things. Instead, we have lives ruined, and livelihoods taken away because someone walked across an imaginary line for the hope of a better tomorrow.

The guys that are in jail right now are going to sit there for 5 months away from their families and then be sent to a place that is their home in name only now.

I hope Mumpower is happy, because the first chance I get I’m going to tell him what a sucker of Satan’s cock he really is. I hope one day someone shames this asshole publicly for this, and I pray to god that I’m the guy to do it.

To sum this post up, I say this: Mumpower is a self aggrandizing sucker of Satan’s cock, and I hope someday that someone comes and fucks with Mumpower’s family for doing this.

Is there a none of the above option for this November?

Unless you’re talking about his UT transcripts, there is no “C” in Shuler.

Is there a none of the above option for this November?

No, but there is Keith Smith, a Libertarian candidate who will likely gain momentum during the next 78 days just on the sole fact that he isn’t Shuler or Mumpower.

Jason, tell us how you really feel.

Thanks for the opportunity to talk about the use of words. I love language. I wanted to use the word “obeyance” which isn’t a word but should be.

So I Googled my word and got the following:

    o•bei•sance (-bsns, -b-)
    n.
    1. A gesture or movement of the body, such as a curtsy, that expresses deference or homage.
    2. An attitude of deference or homage.

I believe that Mumpower defers to the law and perhaps pays homage to it.

Language is a living breathing thing. It is such a living breathing thing that you would not be able to understand the English spoken 1000 years ago.

It is constantly changing by usage. Only dead languages are absolutely set in stone.

I am currently reading “The History of the English Language” updated since it was a textbook in my college days when I majored in English Literature.

    Let’s follow the logic here.
    1..I love my fellow man.
2..Mumpower does something that I think hurts my fellow man.
3..I want to harm Mumpower’s family.

Can you logically be for the first thing and the third thing?

  13. Jason Bugg says:

I don’t want to harm anyone. But I do wish that a loved one of Mumpower’s was arrested, sent to jail for five months and then sent out of the country for harming no one.

    I would then laugh.

I wonder if Satan’s sperm is full of fire ants and furry little centipedes. I should ask Mumpower due to his sucking of Satan’s cock.

You don’t spend a whole lot of time dwelling on this…do you?

  15. Jason Bugg says:

    Define a whole lot.

  16. rip says:

I think you’ve answered my question.

  17. Jason Bugg says:

    I actually haven’t.

Dear Carl. You are a grandstanding pile of poop. One day I hope that you are at home enjoying a rather exciting and kinky lovemaking session with your wife (she gets to be on top this time!) and your heart explodes. As a mixture of bile and whatever casserole that little Donna Reed wife of yours made for dinner that night comes flying out of your mouth she begins to lap it up in some sort of orgasmic rapture that I’m sure they mentioned in some long forgotten book of the Bible. As the darkness begins to take your vision and your moments here on Earth begin to slip away, I hope you see President Obama on the television signing into law amnesty for the immigrants in America that you swear that you are going to lock up.

I’d love to see that, and I know you’d love it to you old so and so.

Any truth to the rumor that those deported worked at a factory that supplied parachutes to the US military?

Mumpower’s grandstanding is going to force his constituents into a unique and unexpected alliance between those that advocate amnesty on ethical grounds and those who stand to lose hardworking employees.

Besides all that, Mumpy is a douchebag.

  20. Clarence Young says:

    Jason supports Obama.

Jason’s letter really causes me to respect the intellect and fiery emotion of at least one Obama voter.

I am sure he is a good man with a loving heart.

He might be just a little weak in the “love thy neighbor” department.

  21. Jason Bugg says:

I love my neighbor, even if they are meth addicts.

Over the course of the last week or so, I have posted some things both on my blog (http://jasonbugg.blogspot.com) and here in the comments section at Scrutiny Hooligans that some might consider inflammatory, base and downright juvenile about Dr. Carl Mumpower. Due to to the controversy and inconvenience that these comments caused Gordon and Scrutiny Hooligans, I would like to go on records as saying that despite what Matt Mittan may have his listeners think and despite what Don Yelton may have spun others in the media into thinking, my comments were my own, and do not represent the views of Gordon Smith or Scrutiny Hooligans.
Any criticism about my words, intentions or the language used in these comments should be sent my way and be done so as not to interfere or discredit the good work that Gordon and company are doing at Scrutiny Hooligans.
I realize that what I have done may have tarnished Gordon and Scrutiny Hooligans’ reputation in the community for providing timely updates on the issues that are relevant and as a launching pad for community activism. For that, I am truly sorry. I’d also like to go on records as saying that I look great in a bathing suit, and despite being a large man, I’m a darn good dancer when pressed into service.

    Thanks

    Jason
