Since this is an open thread, I would like to invite you all to LEAF , Friday through Sunday. I have shows at the Kids Village Friday evening and early Sunday afternoon and will be roaming on Saturday afternoon throughout the festival bringing juggling and family friendly fire consumption to the gentle people of LEAF.
I just heard Lanny Davis from the Clinton campaign on the radio tell Sean Hannity that Barack Obama is a “weak candidate”. Hannity was thrilled to hear him say it and repeated it for him. Hannity then went on to attack Hillary.
The Blue Dogs are threatening to block veterans’ benefits. They say they’re concerned that Jim Webb’s “GI Bill of Rights” violates PAYGO principles. But of course they have no problem violating those principles when Bush asks for a few more billions for the war.
Oh, and telecom immunity is back. Another top-10 hit brought to you by Steny Hoyer and the Blue Dogs.
All in all, it’s just another brick (ahem) in the wall.
Anyone want to call Shuler’s office and ask him where he stands on these two issues? Or is there any point to that?
I agree, conservatives are in quite a state right now (and it pleases me), but I find it absolutely pathetic to hear Kerry whining about Republicans “tampering” in the Democratic primary.
Personally, I find Limbaugh pretty damn funny. Sure, he’s an opportunist and no matter the outcome of his influence, he’ll smugly claim to have planned it all along, but he surely knows how to work a crowd.
But to let him actually get under your skin, as he’s done to Kerry, is to give him entirely too much credit.
bob, couldn’t agree more. It’s like giving Michael Savage credit for moving political thought. Rush has long outlived his usefulness for anything but giving reasonable people a chuckle. I used to think of him as dangerous but lately he’s become more of a parody of idiocy. He does make more money than Gordon however and that makes me sad, but whatever.
I always wondered what kind of an asshole would have a gold microphone.
I guess the same kind of asshole that would pack a bag full of Viagra and charter a flight for him and six of his buddies (including two of the producers of 24) to the Dominican Republic, which coincidentally happens to be a well-known destination for “sex tourism”…
randall,
I disagree with him being a parody.
He’s got something like 18 million daily listeners and is still an important, influential pundit for conservatives, not to mention the fact that he is causing waves in the primary.
Whether these waves actually have effect is debatable, but the simple fact that Kerry and some left wing blogs are calling for intervention (subtly and not so subtly) is validation of his influence.
Nor would I compare him to the vile Savage, who is a vicious hate monger.
TP, you’ve got quite enough chaos in your own house, no?
It’s teh awesome TP! No matter how badly McCain gets his ancient ass handed to him this November, you’ll always have the salad days of operation chaos.
