Desperately stupid McHenry threatens lawsuit over ad

By

Could this guy be any more boneheaded? Great thinking, dunder-wonder. Give the traditional press something to write about just when the story had died. Remind them of your calling a Green Zone guard “two-bit” and then putting up a banned Green Zone video which may have lead to two deaths, including that of a colonel.

Oh, and yes, make sure even more people pay attention to the ad that calls for you to serve your ten years in prison!

This is from the CharO, historically your most supportive rag:

The controversy began last month when McHenry, a two-term lawmaker, returned from his first trip to Iraq.

In a speech to local Republicans, he said he’d tried to get into a gym near the U.S. embassy in Baghdad but was turned away by a “two-bit security guard.” Then, he posted a video of himself in the Green Zone talking about how close enemy rocket attacks had come while he was there.

McHenry voluntarily pulled the video after a veterans group criticized him for giving away intelligence that it said could have aided terrorist groups to strike more accurately.

Sigmon last week called for an investigation into whether McHenry endangered Americans’ lives by detailing the success of enemy attacks

Way to go, Patty!!!

I’m kinda surprised that the GOP ad blitz hasn’t started here in NC-11 yet, but I’m sure that’ll change pretty quick, especially once Floyd Brown (the man who made Willie Horton a household name… geez, has it been twenty years already? Jeebus, I’m getting old) gets his new anti-Obama campaign on the air.

As far as locals, I’m not expecting to see an Armor ad on WLOS anytime soon, and unless Teh Mump has more in his coffers than the $728 that was reported back in December, I wouldn’t expect him to hit the airwaves either. Besides, who needs television or radio when at least one local paper will reprint everything you e-mail them word for word and call it a story, right?

Next week, look for Campbell to start running negative ads trashing Mumpower.

As far as McHenry goes… what goes around comes around.

I think Carl’s going to have some ads, too. It wasn’t elves that made all those signs. The money’s coming from somewhere.

As to McHenry, this obsequious little man has been a Tom Delay Republican from day one. With Tom Delay fading in the rearview mirror and McHenry’s dalliances getting more scrutiny, I expect he’ll soon be part of Rove’s permanent majority in exile.
