Thought Experiment

By

doublethink.jpgCognitive dissonance courtesy of Army of Mumpower:

“If you disarmed America, uh, look at what’d happen. Look at the chaos and harm that would occur. Uh, it’s hard to fathom how bad that would be. If you disarmed, uh, these rogue nations that exist throughout the world, the South Koreas, the Irans, the, um, host of other countries, uh, that wish us and others harm, uh, nothing would happen.

America’s a good country. We, uh, we don’t do everything right. We don’t do everything perfectly, but we don’t ride on the backs of other people. Uh, we don’t, uh, view the destruction of others as the key to our future. And unfortunately there are a lot of people in this world who do believe that.” – Dr. Carl Mumpower

  1. Screaming Mute says:

From our current congressman’s appearance on Lou Dobbs:

“Well…I think…uh…you know uh…I think uh…the Speaker…uh…she knew when…uh…when I was asked to…uh…run for office…that I would do what was right for the people of…Western North Carolina and what’s right for our country…and and put uh political polisix aside and…and…ummm…workin’ with across the aisles what it’s gonna take to turn our country around.” – Rep. Heath Shuler

You’d think Heath’s handlers would have put better words in his mouth.

Ol’ Carl must not be up on the rhetoric of his party and president, or he has spent just a bit too much time in that Amsterdam hash house.

    SOUTH Korea?

Hey, maybe he was trying to focus on his driving.

  5. Gordon Smith says:

    Muteski,

I take it this is your first transcription. Allow me to clean it up and correct it for you:

“Well, I think, uh, you know I think the Speaker – she knew when, uh, when I was asked to – to run for office that I would do what was right for the people of western North Carolina and what’s right for our country and – and put, uh, political politics aside, and working with – across the aisle – is what it’s going to take to turn our country around.”

Is there something here that you find incorrect?

I highlighted the quote from eCarl to point out inherent contradictions, glaring factual errors, and bizarre perspective. I understand this makes you mad, Mute. You highlighted the quote from Heath Shuler why? I can’t really make sense of it. It looks like you thought I was making fun of eCarl’s pause-noises. Those are natural – we all do them, right? What’s your beef here?
