Coming Soon To URTV
ByMatt Howard of Mount Dungeon fame is starting up a political crossfire show at URTV titled “Matt Howard LIVE”. More details to follow but I’ll be on this Saturday at 5pm along with former City Council candidate and owner of Caffiend, Matt Hebb. Howard will moderate the discussion.
But that’s not what motivated me to write this post.
Also slated to appear are former City Council candidate, Lindsey Simerly, and Carolina Stompers’ Leader, Don Yelton, in a discussion about gay marriage. Unless the Stompers’ Leadership backs out of another debate, I foresee the best television of our generation. Kudos to Matt Howard for creating this fascinating format and booking good guests.
For those of you unfamiliar with the raw goodness of Lindsey Simerly, here’s a video released during her campaign:

I’m calling for a cage match!
Watching representatives from two ideological extremes in a debate over gay marriage? Awesomely awesome.

This will be fun. I know and like Matt Hebb, although I don’t agree with his politics, I think Caffeind is a great concept and I use to talk with him a lot when he worked for ACR and they had a coffee stand at the airport. I don’t know you but I enjoy your post. So it will be fun to watch that piece of the show and then to watch the Stompers (if they don’t back out) and Lindsey Simerly will be must watch TV, except on a different channel than NBC and with a more
explosiveinteresting discussion.Rate this comment:

To be clear – The Simerly/Yelton debate will be on a later date, not the same night as Hebb and I.

I love debating church/state separation stuff – especially religion focused. Can I be in the audience?

Jeez, Don, I don’t know. Try contacting Matt Howard through URTV or through Mount Dungeon…

Don M, your welcome to watch, on the condition that you show up at 2:30 and sit in on the studio audience of Mount Dungeon as well. Seriously.
People can talk politics to empty air all day, but bands usually play better with an audience.
As for Don Yelton vs Lindsey here’s an update: Don brought the idea up with me, I asked Lindsey, she said yes, and Don told me he has a lot going on and cant do my proposed date, and hasent offered another one. I told Lindsey she has a standing invitation to come back even without Don. (I had her on last year when she was a city council canidate)
Im not going to speculate on Don Yelton’s availability on any given saturday. You are all free to draw your own conclusions.

My guess is there’s a new Waffle House opening up somewhere. Of course it is Shabbas, so you know he is not going bowling.

Let me understand:
The Stompers initially proposed an “on air” discussion specifically about a purported moral issue upon which they have clear views; when Lindsey Simerly cheerfully accepted the invitation to chat it up about her own contrary views and take the “tough questions,” The Stompers have mysteriously backed out (claiming, “I’m busy”); and now we are left waiting breathlessly for The Stomper’s people to contact Matt Howard’s people to contact Lindsey Simerly’s people, etc…
How many times must this dull scenario play out?
Well, if this bad play ever does come together, I would be happy to sit in and present intellectual arguments in favor of gay marriage from a moral point of view.

OT,
Whilst we’re waiting for George’s Promised Prayers to roll in, down here in the Tornado-Stricken Mid-South, I might recommend some DIRECT HUMAN INTERACTION.
This Is My Best First Start To Help My Region.
As Scout Prime is to NOLA, I am to the Mid-South area (I LIVE here, and was Live-Blogging these horrible storms all night), and have started to get the help-ball rolling down here. Some of you know where I work. I started a Food Drive there today for the Mid-South United Way Food Bank.
As the area affected is so broad and detached, and everyone in the Country was distracted by politics last night, as yet, there is no central assistance hub set-up. So, at the link, above, you’ll find the two agencies with the broadest radius to help the area right now. Both take DIRECT donations.
A small-blog swarm on that (or this) post would be greatly appreciated by more people than just me. I can’t describe how wide-spread the damage is down here. It’s enormous. The Media, per usual, is only just now waking up to the situation, after their Super-Duper-Let’s-All-Wet-Our-Pants-Together- Tuesday Political Hangover. Like NOLA, these are REALLY poor folks down here, and have nothing, and nowhere to go.
A short post about this at YOUR Blog, linking either to my post, above, or directly to the two Orgs mentioned in the post above, would sure be a big help, and would be greatly appreciated by many people who are relying on help. They are all that we have right now.
I just donated a deer’s worth of ground venison, along with the 100 pounds of rice and quart-sized ziplock bags that they said that they needed at the United Way Mid-South Food Bank, when I phoned them this morning. Their pantry is BARE, and I’ll be loading them up with all the potatoes, rice, veggies, bags, and other staples that I can fit in my truck tomorrow.
This is serious Red State country, and a flood of help from the DFH Left would REALLY make a big difference in a number of good ways.
I thank you all in advance.
Click Here for more about what’s going on down here. It’s all that I am writing about right now. Help is needed.
Your humble peer,
Monkeyfister
