So funny!! We have the same LEON tradition with our stocking holders on the mantle. I hope you had a great holiday.

My day was wonderful. Woke up late, opened presents with the family-plus, ate a big breakfast, played with gifts and then threw nine holes of made up (trees) disc golf in a remote gated community near Lake Lure.
After a yummy Christmas dinner, we played ping pong in the basement and then closed out the evening with a rousing game of dominoes. One of our guests is an old friend from my days on submarines during VietNam. We reunited, along with another friend from that era (coming tomorrow), about five years ago after a twenty plus year period of being lost to each other. Pretty sweet.

Merry Christmas

My day was great… started it out with a gourmet but still diet breakfast. Amazing what you can do with reconstituted eggs (very low in calories), chopped celery and onions, real bacon bits, and a dollop of sherry. Add a pot of most excellent coffee made from quality roast beans and the day can only start well.

Later in the morning, filmed my lovely wife currying the two horses who share the farm with us (she likes horses and they love the attention).

Yet later, created the artwork on a Christmas card for our science fiction book imprint and emailed to several of the SF lists I subscribe to… you can see it at http://ralphwroberts.com/rockets-christmas.jpg .

Then, visited with a friend.

In the afternoon, we watched several episodes of “24″ Season Six … I am far too busy to watch TV during most of the year but wanted to see what all the Jack Bauer fuss was about. … actually enjoyed it a lot, not back watching them all at once, can’t see waiting a full week between those cliffhangers. ;-)

in the evening, played with my computers and read.

in all, quite a nice day, a very nice day.

but now… we begin another day of creativity. ;-)

LEON also visits our house. He’s an elf isn’t he?

By Christmas Day all of our family activities are pretty much done and we can relax and then open a bottle of good wine that evening.

Here’s how it goes down in my house:
My son and the disabled woman we care for get their stockings, I fix a huge breakfast including sausage gravy and biscuits, open presents (a PS3, w00t!), vegetate, drink quality beer all day and play.
Here’s hoping all had a Merry Christmas.
