Michael Brown Goes Down
By
When I first read this article in The Swamp (h/t, Think Progress) over the weekend and saw that former FEMA director and all-around posterboy for criminal incompetence Michael “Brownie” Brown is now doing “a heckuva job” as a consultant, the first thing I thought of was one of those “demotivational” posters that you can purchase through Despair, Inc. (“Consulting: If You’re Not a Part of the Solution, There’s Good Money to be Made in Prolonging the Problem”). That Swamp article, though, contains what will certainly be one of my nominees for Quote of the Year (emphasis mine):
“There is life after government,” Brown says, with a caustic assessment of how the administration treated him — “even after you have been run through the wringer, even after you have been thrown under the bus by the leader of the free world.”
The article goes on to mention that he plans on registering as a Federal Lobbyist. Hell, with that kind of experience under his belt, he might even be able to run for President someday!

There is life after government
Though probably out of context, that sounds eerily like something Grover Norquist would say.

I was wondering when someone was going to pick up on that.
