Elect Elaine – Kickoff Party at Scully’s Tomorrow!

By

Elaine Lite, community leader and serious voice for sane development, invites everyone out to Scully’s on Thurday night from 6-9pm to celebrate her candidacy. Come with your friends and family to meet Elaine and hear her vision for our city.

Scully’s is at 13 Walnut St. in downtown Asheville (map).

Elaine and her campaign team have already laid the groundwork for a winning run, now they’re looking forward to spreading the message that sane development isn’t only available to our city, it’s absolutely necessary.

After the party, come on out to Asheville’s Drinking Liberally where we’ll be showing the comedy of Laughing Liberally on the big screen at Asheville Brewing Company on Coxe Ave. downtown.

  1. Drama Queen says:

Can all those liberals who just adore development come, too? You know, uh, the coalition of the de-hilling. I want to see what they look like.

  2. The funny thing is that I’m a liberal who adores safe, sensible, sane development that takes into account quality of life for all the residents of this city.

At last night’s City council meeting, the new development on Haywood Road in West Asheville was approved 7-0. It has ten foot wide sidewalks on Haywood and narrower sidewalks headed down Mitchell and Blue Ridge. It has bike racks and a bus stop. It’s three stories tall. It takes care of its own internal roads. It has green space, lots of trees, a 30 foot buffer, and a nice look to it.

The developer met with neighborhood residents and altered his original design to meet their suggestions.

This is good development, and I hope we see more of it. With Elaine Lite on Council, we will.
