Republicans shout down the house, McHenry spews

By Drama Queen

After I left Capitol Hill yesterday, all hell broke loose. Republicans started screaming. It’s hilarious. Deiphilus has the video:

Then, this morning, Steny Hoyer (my new congressman) tried to make nice, only briefly alluding to the times Republicans cheated treated the minority poorly. Here’s that video.

Earlier in the morning, McHenry called Democrats cheats. Who else could do it so whiningly. I guess he forgets about all the times Republicans turned off the power when Democrats wanted to hold briefings. The sickest part of this video is how many times he refers with such a derogatory tone to people who have entered this country without documentation as “illegals.” Is that the new n-word?

This is nothing but another distraction. A huge, histrionic crybaby festival orchestrated by the GOP. People are finally bearing witness to what happens when Republicans are allowed to control the purse strings for as long as they have, and the more attention they get by crying about how those mean, bullying Dems “cheated”, fewer people will make the connection between their failed economic policy and our failing infrastructure.

Grover Norquist and his ilk called for starving the government. The neoconservative “revolution” quickly fell in line. Is it so coincidental that major sections of the interstate highway system are falling apart? Things like infrastructure are part of the implied social contract between citizens and the government – one that was violated time and time again by the GOP, at the state and federal level.

I should have printed somewhere that the vote was over denying services to illegal aliens.

Just found the record. Heath voted with the Republicans. Nice.

What an incredible scene.

What were they chanting? Shame?

When Republicans abused their power for years, Democrats did not turn the place into a circus (though some liontamers would have been in order). And to see Pat McHenry, perhaps the most vapid liar I’ve ever laid eyes on, whine in ALLCAPS… it was almost too much.

Yeah, that’s the word. Shame. On Lou Dobbs, they actually had the word in huge print overlaying the entire screen in bright yellow. It would pulse on and off (or bigger and littler) in time with the chant. I wonder which side he’s on???
