Drinking Liberally: The Downpour and the Debate

Buckets of rain are expected to fall all night long here in the mountains, and while the flora may be soaked, there won’t be any dampened spirits or wilting violets tonight at the Asheville Brewing Company.  Drinking Liberally, that weekly hotspot for progressives, greens, Dems, and independents, comes together to get out of the rain and get into the first big televised debate of the 2008 election cycle.

All of the Democratic candidates for President are debating tonight in South Carolina.  The debate, hosted by MSNBC’s Brian Williams, will run from 7-8:30.  We’ll be catching all the action on the big screen, 77 Coxe Ave., downtown Asheville. 

Will Kucinich nip at Hillary’s ankles?  Will Obama rise to the occasion?  Will Bill Richardson outshine the pack?  Will John Edwards be late due to extra time in hair and makeup?
